Screen Resolution and Jubilee
One of the challenges we face in developing Jubilee is trying to program a user interface that works at various screen resolutions. I personally use a high-resolution monitor and can see most of the data input screens without ever scrolling. Many users, however, use smaller windows on even smaller monitors and are forced to do a lot of scrolling. Jubilee sizes to accommodate a reasonable range of window sizes, but we are starting to set limits on how small we will program to. We believe Jubilee should be 100% usable on any full-size iPad (not mini’s) and most laptop screens. We will not expect Jubilee to be usable on a mobile device like a phone – although mobile-friendly apps, that make sense, are on our roadmap. If you are having to scroll a lot here are a couple of tips you can try to make your work in Jubilee easier:
- Use full-screen mode. By clicking the 4-Arrow icon on the top toolbar, you will maximize the window to full screen to get the best possible fit. You need only hit the ESC key to return to your previous window size exactly as you were.
- Make sure your browser is being viewed in “Actual Size” or “Zoom Out” rather than “Zoom in”. This keeps the fonts from taking up more space and pushing controls out of sight.
For our part, we are working to tighten up our screens with less white space vertically and horizontally to help reduce the need to scroll at any resolution.
Jubilee Text Messaging
(Terms of Service Changes)
New fees effective May 1st
First the good news: telecoms are working to reduce SPAM texting by vetting businesses that send text messages. That’s great - we all want less junk interrupting our daily lives. The bad news, however, is that as usual, it’s the good law-abiding people (you and us) that are going to be paying for this. For us to implement their new systems, there will be a “campaign verification” fee, a “brand registration” fee, plus an additional monthly “campaign” fee on top of the monthly fee we already pay for each number. Then there are still costs associated with each text sent. You can read more about this here.
With these newly imposed fees in mind, beginning May 1st, the Jubilee text messaging service will be an additional $5 per month added to your subscription (or $60 on an annual subscription). This will still include up to 500 text messages per month. If you no longer wish to use the messaging service just send an email or call support and we can deactivate it for you.
As a reminder, the messaging capabilities in Jubilee are only meant for communicating with your clients and cannot be used for any type of mass marketing. Fees for those types of usage are much greater and there are better services that specialize in that area if you have marketing needs.
NACBA Spring Convention
We’ll be heading to Washington D.C. this month for the annual NACBA spring convention. Keith and Andre will be representing LegalPRO and are both looking forward to talking with all of you who can attend. So please stop by to say hello – we always enjoy catching up with long-time clients and meeting new ones.
